Islander debut new track “I Want Sushi”

Mar 192018

South Carolina’s Islander have just dropped a brand-new track and video. The punchy jammer titled “I Want Sushi” is their first new music since the release of their single “Summer” back in 2017. With the release of the video, Islander have also announced a signing with Outerloop records which hopefully means the wait for a new record won’t be too long!

“We are really excited to be a part of the Outerloop family. We were only interested in signing with a label that shared our vision of bringing a fresh approach to the current artistic climate. Luckily, we found that in Outerloop Records," said Mikey Carvajal about the signing. Regarding the new music, "['I WANT SUSHI'] is a fun song with an honest foundation about the state of the industry. Artists in our shoes aren’t being handed money left & right like folks may think. We live in a van & struggle doing what we love, but it’s that love & passion that ultimately fuels us. Sometimes it’s rough out here & all we want is a little sushi."

Islander have been busy working on new music since coming off their “Hot Like Sauce” tour and a stint on Korn’s “Serenity of Summer” tour last year. We caught up with the band for a quick chat on working with Korn, the tour life, and what a new record might hold for the band. Check it out here.

For now, turn the volume up to 11 and enjoy “I Want Sushi”
