Jason Webb has undeniably one of the coolest cars in the Supadrift Series. Fresh off a win at the first round of the season. We hit him up for a quick catch up before he heads off for round 2 in Polokwane this weekend.
It really feels great. The team has worked really hard during the off season getting the car to the spec we want, and it’s really paid off. Now we have just got to keep the momentum going!
The team along with myself looked back on last year and saw where we could improve the car. Suspension is so key in drifting so we redesigned the whole front end allowing for better steering, a few other things like moving the exhaust away from the fuel tank for heat reasons, adding in a brake booster on the front brakes, adding in a brake bias that allows us to shut off the rear brakes for burn outs.
We didn’t get to do any testing before the first round so we had to find the gremlins at the track. Friday we had a gremlin stick with us the whole day until finally realizing we had a faulty TPS. Saturday morning we could get some good laps in and then it was smooth sailing from there.
At the moment we’ve been focused on getting the car dialed in and ready for the Supadrift season, now that that has kicked off I can start focusing on the next big thing for myself and the "Stang", so be sure to stay tuned!
