The party in the tropics was a heated affair this weekend as the V8 Supercars tore up Darwin’s Hidden Valley Raceway.
Monster Energy athlete and Holden factory driver James Courtney produced the goods on Saturday with a pole-setting lap for Race 13 of the Championship.
“After struggling a bit with the car during practice we had a bit of a find overnight and the car was hooked-up Saturday morning so it was sweet to put the HRT Commodore back to the top of the grid,” said JC.
The Monster effort was backed up by two top-10 race results. A sixth on Saturday and a seventh place for Sunday’s 200km feature race.
JC’s championship run remains in solid shape with the Gold Coaster sitting strong in sixth in the drivers’ standings.
Famous for its main street mayhem and buzzing paddock, the next race in Townsville is the place to be for hitting the weekend hard, while soaking up the sun, and checking out V8 Supercars machinery on the limit - check it out July 10-12.
