Mexican surfer Jhony Corzo
was crowned champion of the ISA World Surfing Games where 47 countries were brought together on the southwest coast of France.
“It’s an amazing feeling to be crowned World Champion! I don’t have words for it. This is something that I wanted ever since I was young and started surfing. This is my first time competing in the ISA World Surfing Games and I got the Gold. It’s a dream come true”, said Jhony.
This achievement not only gave Mexico its first individual medal, but also gave the necessary points for the Mexican team to receive the Copper medal.
The 18-year-old came through with a score of 14.5 ahead of the local Joan Duru in second with 13.9 and third Pedro Henrique with 12,47 points.
