KULDRULA 2016 OUTPERFORMS THE WEATHER

The first day of the festival turned into anything but expected, you could say that the best rider of the day was the weather and the best trick the pouring rain, which resulted in whole competition programm was moved to second day. Nevertheless Saturday didn’t leave anyone completely disappointed, because all unused energy could be launched at the legendary Kuldrula afterparty "Kuldne Äftekas"

Kuldrula second day started with the rain as well, but fortunately the sky cleared for noon and the competition could begin. Due to the prior all the participants advanced directly to the finals, which resulted in schedule being rather tight.

In Kuldrula name discipline, skateboarding the local level has risen each year, and so this year all the main players came from Estonia. The third place and the best trick win with Backside 270 Lipslide went to Romaario Siimer, second was Rain Lindemann with technical lines and the first place went to Alexandr Tubin who is known for his rock'n'roll attitude.

The most prominent part of the event was a Sunday evening BMX competition, which had the most international company. Monster Energy was represented directly from Lithuania, by David Budko, who showed many epic tricks including the longest Wheelie in the history of Kuldrula. Unfortunately this wasn’t enough to make it to the podium this time. Top 3 consisted from street king of Finland, Matias Aura, the local hero Talis Viirpalu, who is known for his high airs and highly technical Andres Lainevool, whose lines had no end. Best trick was scored by Rytis Ant with Hang Five Whipslash.

Kuldrula 2016 is summed up best by David Budko personally: “This trip to Estonia was a very positive experience for me. I really liked that the organisers were very enthusiastic to raise the level of Kuldrula in every aspect – in organisation, competition, atmosphere and of course afterparties. Everything was done on a very high level this year. I will definitely come back here next year with my hommies!”
