Martin Choy season recap and plans for 2018

Nov 282017

Bulgarian superbike racer Martin Choy supported by Monster Energy once again dominated the national motorcycling championship.

He won 6 of the 8 rounds this year and proved that experience and hard work usually pay off.

Except (apart from) winning the local championship Martin came second in the BMU EUROPEAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP for 2017, in which, due to other commitments he missed 4 of the races and still took the second step of the podium.

2017 was very successful for me

How do you rate your performance in 2017?

2017 was very successful for me and EKO BMV Racing Team – National champion and 9 wins in the European championship. The season in the FIM World Endurance Championship was OK for us, because from the beginning it was clear that we have the potential for top 5, but something always happened and we couldn‘t finish, but in a championship like this you also need a lot of luck. On a positive note we started the new campaign with a 5-th place in Bol d’Or.

You dominated the national championship ones again, but came second in the European. Why did this happen?

It happened only because of the fact that we race in 4 different championships and many of the rounds overlap, but we are happy that we won all the races we managed to take part in.

Your team came 5-th from almost 60 others in the first race of the FIM World Endurance Championship for 2017/2018. Do you plan to take park in all the starts next year?

We are currently working on the calendar for 2018, but yes, the plan is to race in all the rounds in 2018.
