Looking back at the best fighters of all time, we obviously can’t talk about the UFC without bringing up our own, Conor McGregor – easily the biggest star in combat sports. He became the first simultaneous 2 division champion when he smashed Eddie Alvarez at Madison Square Garden in 2016. It can be said that McGregor is the reason the UFC is so popular – plus he earns the most money out of all UFC fighters.
Chuck Liddell and Randy Couture are two names that everyone will recognise – known as the early pioneers of the UFC. Anderson Silva and George St Pierre are also well respected as some of the best fighters in history.
Also worthy of note is Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone, who has the most wins of any fighter in UFC history with 23 victories, 16 finishes and 20 knockdowns inside the octagon, a mark that reflects both his durability and commitment. Too much for a 36-year-old? No, that's just Cowboy being Cowboy. He also shares the records for most fights (33, tied with Jim Miller) and most fights in a 12-month span (six, tied with Sam Alvey).
Let's also not forget Jon "Bones" Jones, who has the record for the most title defences in UFC history.
