My Ride | Theo Erlangsen

Jun 102019

New season = New whip. We caught up with new MTB recruit Theo Erlangsen in between DH laps in Leogang to get the run down on his dialed 29 Supreme Commencal rig. Check out Theo’s new ride below.

"Starting with the frame, I’m now running the 29 Supreme frame from Commencal. The little bit that I have ridden so far feels great, the pivot and kinematics are on point. Feeling a huge difference already with it eating up all the braking bumps and square edges on track. It didn’t take much to get used to from my previous setup." mentions Theo.

Fork - "On the front end, I’m running the Fox 49 Fork with a FIT GRIP2 damper, it’s my first time running these and I’m really loving them so far, shout out to Jordy from Fox for setting them up for me, he did a really good job tuning them up so thanks for that."

Stoppers - "I’m currently on a set of SRAM Code RSC brakes – I’ve struggled a little bit with them this weekend but that comes with the territory with building a new setup."

Bars – "I’m on the Spank Spike Vibrocore 800 bars, I’ve been riding these since DarkFEST and I must say I really like the bar roll and the sweep on them, super comfortable." says Theo.

What rubber is Theo rolling on? - "Leogang is quite a fast paced track so there are a lot of places for time to be made. I’m running a pair of 2.4 Maxxis Minion DHR II’s because they roll super quick."

Rear shock – "I’ve gone with a coil rear shock, the orange coils are pretty light these days so they're worth running. The track also has some pretty bumpy sections so it does a great job there."

Drivetrain – "I’ve got a SRAM X0 drivetrain paired with an Ultralight cassette. Makes for super smooth pedalling every time!"

Pedals - "I'm back on Shimano DX pedals, first time running these for a while, they're always really reliable and run dialed."

Cranks - "On a pair of Truative Descendant cranks at the moment. I’m now sticking to the aluminium cranks because I learnt the hard way with my last pair of carbons."
