Action from the ninth round of 2017 MotoGP and Sachsenring for the Grand Prix of Germany

#MYLID: Jonas Folger

Aug 032017

MotoGP resumes this weekend for the Monster Energy Grand Prix České republiky at the expansive and challenging Brno circuit and Monster Tech3 Yamaha’s Jonas Folger will have not forgotten his exciting fight for victory at Sachsenring in Germany just prior to the summer break. The impressive rookie will again count on a large partisan support at Brno as the series reconvenes from a four-week hiatus and for the ninth round of eighteen.

The 23 year old will not be hard to spot. The Tech3 M1 is a potent black blur around racetracks and after his maiden podium finish on home asphalt, Folger will be hunting more trophies in the second half of the campaign.
Jonas also has a slightly special touch when it comes to his #mylid. 2017 marks not only his first in the premier class of Grand Prix racing and on Yamaha machinery but is also a year where he gets a unique look. “This is my first helmet where I can use my own design,” he reveals.

“[Aldo] Drudi made it for me at the beginning of the season and I told him I wanted something simple that would really stand out and, of course, have my red colour on the top.”

Aside from his shade and number in the form of a cross, Folger also has another catching detail. “If you look on the sides then you can see two ‘J’s coming to the front: it is a feature I really like and I think people can recognise it pretty quickly because it is something a bit different from the other helmets.”

If Folger keeps on challenging the likes of Viñales, Rossi, Marquez, Pedrosa, Lorenzo and co and stopping the Yamaha in Parc Ferme then grabbing a close up appreciation of #94’s #mylid is only going to get easier.
