Aussie Monster Army BMXer Alec Danelutti takes us through his current bike set up. Check out the pics!
I ride a bike that has no brakes with a medium sized, 20.7” frame. I chose to ride brakeless when I was about 14 years old because it stopped me from pulling on my brakes and slowing down before quarter pipes when I was scared! Being brakeless also makes it much easier for me to do bar spins.
I like running a 20.7” frame with a smaller rear end because it makes my bike really responsive when doing tail whips.
My wheels are currently profile racing hubs with titanium spokes. I like profile hubs because they are really smooth and roll fast which reduces the amount I need to pedal in a competition run. The titanium spokes are much lighter than regular spokes which effects the rotational weight of my wheels making a big difference when it comes to spinning and tail whips.
I am 6ft tall so I like to ride handlebars that are a little bit higher so that I am not always hunching over my bars. My current handlebars are 9.4” tall and 28.5” wide, allowing me to have enough control of my bike but yet the bars short enough to spin around easily.
