The Prague O2 arena hosted the biggest MMA tournament in the history of the Czech Republic and Slovakia this weekend. Over ten thousand martial arts fans visited a packed gala evening that brought local stars and world legends. The atmosphere in the hall was amazing, the production team did a great job, and it was obvious that the audience really enjoyed the whole event. And it was not without reason. All 11 matches of the jubilee tenth tournament Oktagon were definitely worth watching and although some unfortunately ended early due to injury or loss of local fighters, it did not affected the quality of the tournament.
The first match between two heavyweights Polish Tomasz Koluc and Czech kickboxer Peter Šlahor ended unfortunately in the 1st round because of the injury of Czech fighter.
The second prelim ended up also in first round, with winning Marek Bartl, who caused his opponent Tomáš Lihn Le Sy a cut, because of which the referee stopped the fight.
It was followed by first match of the evening finished by decision, where Czech Michal Konrád defeated Slovak fighter František Fodor.
Fourth match ended in the first round again, thanks to triangle choke by Filip Macek, who defeated Ukrainian Taras Gryckiv.
Last two prelims - Ronald Paradeiser vs. Aziz Dauliatov and Robo Pukač vs. Jan Janka were both decided on points in favour of the first mentioned.
All the fights of the Oktagon 10 tournament were followed up at a rapid pace so there was no time for boredom and shortly after the prelims came the first fight of the main card between OKTAGON Výzva III. reality show finalists Karol Ryšavý and Jakub Dohnal. As in the previous issues of OKTAGON Výzva, the victory went to Slovakia as Karol Ryšavý defeated his Czech opponent in the 2nd round by TKO.
The next fight brought great surprise for some and a disappointment for the local fans. The Prague favourite hero and Oktagon MMA star Miloš „Meloun“ Petrášek fought UFC veteran from the USA Jeremy Kimball, who looked like he is far from the form of Miloš, however the opposite was true. He finished his opponent without trouble in first round by TKO.
