Monster sponsored MMA Tournament Oktagon 30 taking place in Brno, Czechia

Oktagon 30: Tereza Bledá is a first women champ

Jan 122022

The penultimate day of the year was a celebration for all MMA fans. On December 30, the jubilee 30th MMA tournament took place in Brno's Zoner Bobby Hall and again there was a lot to watch.  Tereza Bledá showed a dominant performance in the title match with Brazilian Mabella Lima, and after two minutes of the first round finished her on the ground with hard elbows. Tereza thus became the first woman Octagon champion in history and holds the title in women's flyweight.

Oktagon 30 started with four stand up matches according to Oktagon Underground rules, followed by nine MMA matches. Underground offered as expected tough battles and all the fighters gave great performances. The only KO was taken care of by the talented Slovak Denis Farkaš, who took the match less than a week after the match in another organization.

Three of the five pre-matches on the MMA card ended in the first round and there was no shortage of adrenaline. Michal Plesník excelled in the first match, who, thanks to his great boxing, beat his opponent Vito Špice in the first round. Local star Daniel "Dee Dee" Škvor systematically destroyed Brazilian Jhonathan Azevedo from the beginning of the match and the doctor did not allow Azevedo to enter the second round. Škvor won by technical KO. Polish fighter Mateusz Strzelczyk delivered another finish in the first round. He defeated his opponent Emmanuel Dawa by heel hook. Jakub Tichota and Mate Sanikidze, who defeated their opponents in points, also showed dominant performances.

The main card was opened by a duel between Czechoslovak stars Matúš Juráček and Robert Pukač. The points judges finally gave the victory to Juráček, who thus has his 4th victory in a row. This was followed by a heavyweight duel, in which Daniel Dittrich was not good enough for the Slovenian Tadej Dajčman, who strangled Dittrich in the first round. In the penultimate match of the evening, the rising star of the domestic scene, Matěj Peňaz, introduced himself against Cheick Kone from Côte d'Ivoire. Peňáz struck his opponents with a lot of hard blows, which Kone withstood until the third round, in which Money finally turned knocked him out.

Undefeated Czech star Tereza Bledá and Brazilian Mabelly Lima competed in the main match for the first women's Oktagon title. However, Lima did not meet weight, she only met the limit on the day of the match, so she lost the opportunity to win the title. Bledá entered the match like a tornado, didn't give the Brazilian too many chances and beat her with elbows in the first round. You can find more information on the Oktagon MMA website and a record of all matches on their Youtube channel.
