ONE AWESOME WEEK AT PAMPOROVO FREESTYLE OPEN

An amazing week, in which we saw a total of 4 international competitions ended with great success.  

The action began on Monday, March 13, with the first snowboard contest, which was attended by about 30 people. One of the young hopes of the US team - Brandon Davis arrived in our country directly after the prestigious X Games in Norway and showed the fans how to ride in order to receive the highest score in the most attractive discipline of freestyle. As expected Brandon took the victory, but there was reason for joy for Bulgarian supporters as well. Peter Gyosharkov took second place on Monday and confirmed his good performance the next day with a third position. Another of our compatriots, who qualified for the finals with one of the highest scores in qualifying was Simeon Mitrev, but unfortunately he failed to land all the tricks cleanly in the finals and ended up in fifth place.

The racing part of the event continued on Friday with freestyle skiing. Athletes from Bulgaria, Australia, Norway, Austria and others joined the fight for the valuable FIS points required to get a quota for the 2018 Olympic Games.

The finals of the four competitions were broadcast live on Bulgarian National Television, which is a sure sign that the interest in these disciplines is big and the development of freestyle in Bulgaria will only go forward.
