The dust has settled and the streets of Nashville, Tennessee are now much quieter than they were just weeks ago when the esteemed CMA Fest rolled through town. We were fortunate enough to have a killer set up with a pop-up barbershop, as well as two sponsored artists who gave exclusive intimate performances at the festival. One of those artists was Rick Monroe, who gave us a killer rundown of the entire event as our ‘man on the inside’.

I had a Monster of a day at the annual CMA Fest right in the heart of Music City Nashville, TN. One of the greatest things about the Country music industry is the relationship between artists and fans. Every year many of the biggest artists in Country gladly take the time to meet and greet their fans who travel from all over the world every Summer to see their favorite artists play intimate fan club shows and sign autographs. This event is made possible by artists, their labels & sponsors who give so much to support the CMA Foundation. The CMA Foundation focuses on the importance that music makes in the lives and development of children. I was really moved by the notes from school kids expressing how much they appreciated the opportunities to learn more about music and be introduced to playing instruments via contributions made possible by CMA Fest and its corporate sponsors like Monster Energy.

From the moment you get to the convention center you feel the energy. The people wanting to get a glimpse of their favorite artists or a chance to meet some new ones. CMA has this huge event running like clockwork. All the volunteers and staff make it so easy to get to where you need to be and make you feel special no matter what level of artists you are. The convention floor is electronic with so many different booths & stages. You can walk in to Jake Owen's doing a writer round to endless new artists on the CMA spotlight stage and everywhere you look you see happy Country fans.

Just walking in I got stopped by a woman who had drawn a picture from one of my promo shots, it was awesome and humbling to think how much time she must have put into it. Once you get the booth you are signing it all becomes a blur. It’s a steam of people from all over the world and from every walk of life. Some who have been coming for over 25 years and some it’s their 1st time but all excited about Country music.

I did get to sneak in to see my fellow Monster Energy artist Cole Swindell who absolutely killed it at his packed fan club party. Later I walked around with Monster Energy film crew to show them the sights of lower Broadway while the Monster Energy girls gave away drinks to thirsty and appreciative fans. It is one of the best parties of the year and I love being part of a genre that understands how important our fans are and I love to see Monster Energy getting into the Country world! – Rick Monroe
