It was a really hot weekend that lived in Misano during the round of the Rimini Riviera and not just for the heat and the scorching sun. On the track dedicated to Marco Simoncelli, the public has witnessed yet another double by Jonathan Rea who continues his journey towards the world title. The weekend spent in the Emilia Romagna’s coast has been very fruitful for the rider of the Kawasaki team. The Northern Irish rider reached 370 points when there are only four rounds left in the season. So Johnny Rea's seasonal victories become ten: 64 in his career, six in Misano and eighth consecutive podium for a total of 120 victories. The triumph in Race 1 comes thanks to a perfect start that nullifies the Superpole won by his team mate Tom Sykes. The Kawa rider immediately imposes his pace by clearing his opponents and flying towards the finish line. Jonathan Rea repeated it on Sunday in Race 2: starting from ninth place on the grid for the rule of reverse-grid: great recovery on opponents and overwhelming victory. Fifth position in both races for Tom Sykes. The English bishop is still looking for a better setting and greater concentration in the race.
Only tenth place for Ana Carrasco in WorldSSP300 Sunday, a tough race, but very important points for the title. The tough Spanish rider leads the board with 84 points. Now time for vacation, the Superbike circus stops for the long summer break before returning to the track on the weekend of 14 and 16 September for the round of Portimao, in Portugal.
