Romanian Drift Championship - Stage 4, Constanta

Aug 162017

The 4th stage of the Romanian Drift Championship hit Constanta hard as 10.000 motorsport fans cheered for their favourite drivers in the two-day event.
35 drivers, Romanian, Hungarian and Bulgarian decimated the course of the event organized by the Romanian Drift Community Association in partnership with Asociatia Litoral – Delta Dunarii.

We witnessed a series of super-heated battles, both figuratively and literally as the temperatures outside reached 41 degrees Celsius and over 60 degrees Celsius were reported inside the drift vehicles. At Semi-Pro, 1st place was conquered by Andrei Furtea, followed by Bulgarian Georgi Kazakov and by Alin Botis on 3rd, while at PRO the podium was dominated by Pavlin Penev (1st place), Traian Buse (2nd place) si Iulian Jumuga (3rd place).

Even though he was the best driver of the race, Monster Energy’s very own Calin Ciortan tried a different approach at the start line, went in with too much speed and ended up receiving 0 points in the 1st round as he had two wheels outside the circuit. The second round was a real tight one that Calin won, but it was not enought to make it to top 8, so Calin remained in top 16 and was bumped 1 spot of the overall standings and he’s currently in the 2nd place overall.

We’re super sure that he will be back, defending his honor at the last round of the Romanian Drift Championship that will take place between the 23rd and 24th of September, so keep your eyes peeled on Romanian Drift Community’s Facebook page for more updates.
