A few days ago, Royce Da 5’9 dropped his most recent mixtape The Bar Exam 4! It’s unreal to say the least. Regarding the beats on the mixtapes, they have come a long way from 2007 when he released the first ‘Bar Exam’, but his usual freestyle flow is still prevalent a decade later. He is one of the few rappers who still spits over beats released by other rappers, so there is a lot of hype surrounding this release.
Hip-hop listeners will be pleased to hear the purest lyrical exercises on some of the best beats in the game. The mixtape is a long awaited follow-up from The Bar Exam 3 which was released in March, 2010, and the most single activity from the rapper since his studio album Layers from early 2016. Earlier this year, though, he got fans hyped by posting a Facebook video with new music from his collab with Eminem in the series Bad Meets Evil. The lyrical genius will soon be touring as part of the Slaughterhouse crew on June 30.
