Being an invitational competition, only some riders have the possibility of practically paralyzing a community and giving themselves the fun of their lives through the route. It is precisely an event on which only athletes who meet certain characteristics (handling, resistance, skill and technique) are considered to participate; This due to the risk that this type of routes entails.
Unlike previous years, the track was modified in its entirety, 980 meters conformed what has been the most technical layout in the history of the competition; started jumping from the roofs of three different houses and then heading for pronounced drops that introduced them to sharp alleys full of stairs and unevennesses adorned with wallrides, earth slides and 3 impressive ramps that made the competitors fly in the air.
The English world star of freeride Sam Pilgrim visited Mexican territory to compete for the first time in what would be his first urban experience.
“I was very excited to have been invited to this event, it was my first time in an urban mode competition and it has been amazing, watching the guys live and direct disdain to tremendous speeds, it's crazy!“ said Sam.
The format of the competition comprised two timed declines, the best of which would be the scoring. Once the rounds against the clock were concluded, the favorite segment of the public, "Best Trick", in which the competitors had to show off and do their best for three rounds.
"The Best Trick section was a lot of fun, the ramps and jumps were perfectly built, pretty comfortable, the builders did an amazing job. That gave me a lot of confidence and well ... I was winner of Best Trick," said Sam.
During his rounds the British surprised the assistants and judges with tricks like: Flip one foot can, 360, "Table Flip," Flip Tuck No Hander", among others.
"Mexico is incredible, Taxco is awesome, since 2015 I was anxious to come, finally I could be here and live the experience, no doubt I'll be back here next year," finished Sam.
