A free concert by SUICIDAL TENDENCIES' in Los Angeles was cut short Sunday afternoon after police broke up the event. According to their drummer Dave Lombardo, the band "got to play four songs before the riot squad and helicopter aka Ghetto birds broke up the event,” apparently in response to the audience breaking through a security gate. This was unfortunate for both the band and the audience, as the concert was staged in collaboration with the unveiling of a mural of SUICIDAL TENDENCIES singer Mike Muir. Muir was being honored by council member José Huizar and Los Angeles-based artist Robert Vargas for his long-time dedication to Los Angeles street, skate and punk rock music culture. See Mike’s on stage speech below at 32:15 as the show gets broken up.
