CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077, Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs: Legion, and Bethesda’s highly anticipated Doom Eternal were just a handful of the incredible studio titles breaking cover at PGA: Poznań Game Arena last weekend. Missed the action? Then don’t sweat it - we’ve got all the highlights right here…

Now in its 14th year, the annual PGA show is a headlining destination for gaming fans from Poland and central Europe. Having grown from a relatively modest expo of PC and board games in 2004, to now dominating one of the largest spaces in the Poznań International Fair in the heart of the city, PGA has become a true record breaker in its own right.

Around 80,000 fans flocked to PGA 2019 to check out 1500 stalls; covering the very latest big budget studio offerings, Indie titles, Cosplay competitions, E-Sports tournaments, industry conferences and retro gaming displays. If that wasn’t enough, PGA 2019 featured a concert of epic music from video games performed by the 80-person CoOperate Orchestra with the accompaniment of the Adam Mickiewicz University choir.

This year PGA also featured a new Stars4Fans area giving visitors the opportunity to rub shoulders, grab an autograph, and also challenge the leading Polish YouTubers and influencers to a gaming showdown.

On the final day of action the CEEGA - Central & Eastern European Game Awards - held it’s annual gala; awarding prizes to leading games and developments teams from central and eastern Europe.

The Best Game award was won by the medieval hack ’n slash multiplayer Mordhau, developed by Slovenian independent studio Triternion. The much-acclaimed title beat World of Warships: Legends, Book of Demons, and Green Hell to the top spot. Poland’s leading game studio CD Projekt Red won the award for Best Narrative with their role-playing title Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales.

Fans heading over to hall five throughout the entire weekend were able to grab a cold can at the Monster Energy rig, jump in the Dirt 2.0 rally simulator for a chance to win prizes, meet Taksi ZRT and the Monster Girls, as well as grab a photo with Rafal Pasierbek a.k.a Stunter13’s custom built motorcycle.

Whatever you do, make sure you don’t miss out when PGA returns next year on the 9th - 11th October.
