Van Horebeek blasts back to MXGP podium heights in Argentina

Mar 202017

Almost 30,000 people bulged the fences at the fast, scenic and tricky Neuquen circuit for the Grand Prix of Argentina for what was round three of 2017 MXGP and it was Monster Energy Yamaha’s Jeremy Van Horebeek who caught the eye with his maiden podium finish of the season in second place. The Belgian was a rapid and undeniable force at the third fixture of nineteen and the first of two intercontinental events for the FIM Motocross World Championship. With results of 2-3 in two warm motos in the heart of Patagonia and all its natural glory, ‘JVH’ sprayed cold champagne for the first time since the Monster Energy GP of Americas last summer.

“Pre-season went really well for me and then in Qatar and Indonesia I don't really know what happened,” Van Horebeek said. “I regrouped and together with the team we made some changes to the bike and yesterday and today I felt like ‘me’: comfortable, quick and ready to fight for the win. The track was really nice and sketchy in some places but hats-off to the organisation because it has been a nice event and a well-prepared track. I want to thank the team for their work and everyone around me.”
