Kurt Busch wins the dramatic “Battle of the Brothers” Sunday at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. Leading the race with 25 laps to go, Kyle Busch closed on Ross Chastain to put him a lap down. But Chastain ended up slowing Kyle Busch down, enabling Kurt Busch to catch and pass him for the lead. Kyle Busch didn’t let his sibling get away and almost took the lead back off a massive run inside with seven laps to go. But Kurt Busch repelled the attack, then pulled away through lapped traffic to a 1.2-second win. Kurt Busch became the 12th driver to clinch a spot in the 16-driver Cup playoff field with the win.
The Wick 338 circuit in Southwick, Massachusetts played host to the world’s best motocross racers over the weekend, Monster Energy racer Dylan Ferrandis (Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing) dominated the 450MX classification in the Luas Oil Pro Motocross Championship to not only win his fourth race of the 2021 season, but to also pull farther away in race for the 450MX National Championship. Fourth on the afternoon in Massachusetts was Monster Energy Kawasaki rider Eli Tomac. Tomac now holds down a highly competitive third overall in the 450MX point standings. The 250MX classification also went to war in the Massachusetts silica, Jo Shimoda of the Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki race team powered his KX250F to a strong runner-up finish. Third and fifth in the 250MX division at Southwick fell to Monster Energy/Star/Yamaha Racing team riders Justin Cooper and Colt Nichols. The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will now travel to Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, Minnesota where Dylan Ferrandis will hope and plan on extending his lead in the world’s premiere motocross classification.
The 2021 Formula Drift series staged the Borderlands event at Lake Erie Speedway on Saturday night and it was Monster Energy-backed wheelman Chelsea DeNofa in the BC Racing Ford Mustang RTR burning rubber on his way to victory over the world’s best drifting drivers.
The Amsoil Championship Off-Road series hosted the ERX Off-Road National over the weekend in Elk River, Minnesota and it was Monster Energy drivers Kyle LeDuc and CJ Greaves absolutely dominating the premiere Pro 4 classification. The duo traded out wins and runner-up finishes in both races. On Friday it was Kyle LeDuc in the Monster Energy Ford claiming the victory with CJ Greaves second. 24 hours later the dynamic duo switched positions, this time CJ Greaves in Monster Energy Toyota racing to victory with LeDuc second. Greaves still holds a commanding lead in the 2021 Pro 4 championship chase.

In the Main Card fight in the bantamweight division, the 26-year-old from Helena, Montana stopped his opponent via TKO at 4:33 minutes of Round 3 and earned the UFC’s ‘Fight of the Night’ award worth $75,000.
