Cody Teel is a Texas-born cowboy and former PRCA World Champion. He also is the newest member of the Black Monster team of professional bull riders and joins fellow teammates Jose Vitor Leme, Jess Lockwood, J.B. Mauney, Chase Outlaw, Derek Kolbaba and Marco Eguchi at the elite level of PBR competition. “It makes me go to work even harder because they are winners,” Teel said. “It comes with a lot of expectations, but it’s a challenge I welcome. It is an honor to wear the brand because (of the) other guys that represent them (are) a bunch of winners and World Champions.” Since transitioning from the PRCA to the PBR full time, Teel has accumulated a combined 12 event wins at all levels of PBR competition since 2016, including four wins in 2017 and again in 2019. Teel, who finished 2019 in sixth and was third in 2018, is expecting to start off 2021 much like he ended 2020. He grabbed his first win at a 15/15 Bucking Battle in Billings, Montana. “I’m really excited to represent Black Monster,” Teel concluded. “Knowing the reputation they have in every sport, they put their hand in, and being on the team with the guys that are on in the bull riding world, it’s just a big honor and I’m excited about it.
