Looking down the TORC Series driver roster you’ll see a number of guys that used to race motocross. Monster Energy’s Colton “CJ” Greaves is one of those guys, though he decided a lot sooner than the others that his calling would be four wheel off-road racing. A multi-time Loretta Lynn’s MX qualifier as an amateur, CJ stepped up to the ‘Bigs’ so-to-speak well before he was even eligible for a driver’s license. Even more impressive was that he was able to start winning championships as soon as he got out of the gate, or Land Rush start if you’re talking Crandon. The 2010 Dirt Sports Magazine off-road Rookie of the Year, CJ won back-to-back TORC Series Super Buggy titles (2010-’11) before retiring as defending champ in that class to focus on TORC PRO Light and, new for 2012, the PRO 2WD class. His driving acumen, under the watchful eye of his legendary racing father – Monster Energy’s Johnny Greaves - paid instant dividends in 2012 when he won his first-ever PRO 2 class main event at TORC’s opening round at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Quite humbling in that he’s all of 16 years old.
