Hailing from scenic Brioud in Southern France, Amaury Pierron took the mountain bike world by storm in 2018. Seemingly out of nowhere, the young racer who was introduced to mountain bikes by his older brother took the win at the iconic UCI Downhill World Cup in Fort William, Scotland. Sending a real shock to the system, the rookie continued to dominate for the rest of the season. Chalking up three back-to-back wins along the way, Pierron was crowned the 2018 World Cup Champion at the end of the summer. Not bad for a guy with a dream who worked as a bike mechanic in his local bike shop just two years prior! And the win was more than just a fluke: Amaury has proven himself as a regular podium threat again and again, taking second place in the 2019 World Cup season and third place in the World Championships that year. Since his World Champion title, the stakes have been higher than before. But Amaury Pierron doesn’t let it get to his head and takes it one race at a time, loving every moment of living the mountain bike dream.
