Growing up with the desert on his doorstep in Phoenix, Arizona it was a natural step for Austin Jones to jump in a trophy truck and race off road. Not to mention having inherited a passion for racing from his father Jesse Jones, who has been running the family team - Jones Motorsport - for more than two decades. In his first full season, Austin teamed up with Bryce Swaim and they took the SCORE International championship, claiming victories at the Baja 500 and Baja 1000 in the Trophy Truck Spec class. AJ took his first steps in rally raid towards the end of 2018, participating in Baja Aragon and the Morocco Rally. In 2019 he achieved top-5 finishes at the Silk Way Rally and Morocco before making his debut at the Dakar, coming 8th overall in the SSVs and finishing as the second-best rookie. If all that wasn't enough, in 2021 AJ became the first American to win the FIA T4 World Cup for Cross-Country Rally and finished second in the Dakar. Not bad for someone only in their mid twenties!
