Describing Dakota’s riding is easy: simple and powerful. Where others are filling in the blanks on three stairs and stem height rails, Dakota is hoping over both the rail and the three-stair to a wall eight feet away. Connecting things that don’t line up and taking them to new levels has earned Dak respect from his peers year and after year, and 2015 was the culmination of that. After being nominated for Ride BMX’s Number One Street Rider Award for seven years in a row, it was his year. To cheers of a thousand BMXers, Dakota was carried to the stage as the long overdue Number One Street Rider in the world. In addition, Dakota had the opening section in Monter Energy’s NORA Cup Video Of The Year winning Above Below. To say 2015 treated Dak well would be an understatement. But Dakota isn’t riding the wave; he’s ready to put in work in 2016 filming for the highly anticipated Vans video alongside countless side projects that come his way.
