The Sixpounder

BIOGRAPHY

The Sixpounder is a groove/melodic metal band from Poland founded in 2006. In 2008 they won one of the most important band competitions – Wacken Metal Battle, which opened the stage to the Wacken Open Air in 2010. The debut album of The Sixpounder "Going To Hell? Permission Granted" was released in 2011. Frantic Phil (Filip Sałapa), the band singer took part in The Voice of Poland talent show and thanks to his success he was appreciated by Universal Music Group, which proposed to re-release The Sixpounder debut album. It was the first Polish metal band in the history to be released by this label.

In 2013, The Sixpounder began recording their second album entitled "The Sixpounder". It was released at their own expense on May, 2014. The same year the band beat almost one thousand bands and had the opportunity to play at the Woodstock Festival.

In 2016 the band released their third album “True To Yourself”. The Sixpounder also composed three songs for the Polish comedy “Exterminator”, which was played in cinemas at the beginning of 2018, and “Time to Kill’ was the lead song of the movie.  

The band consists of vocalist Filip Sałapa, bassist Paweł Ostrowski, guitarist Maciej Rosik and drummer Artur Konarski.
