Dirty Heads drop extremely personal “Celebrate” video

Jan 192018

Everybody’s favorite beach reggae hip-hoppers Dirty Heads have revealed their official new video for “Celebrate” feat. The Unlikely Candidates, the band’s second single from the latest album SWIM TEAM. The song features deeply personal lyrics relating to the sacrifices musicians and touring bands are forced to make every day to keep up their grueling tour schedules. While many fans attend the concerts of their favorite bands with expectations of a certain performance standard, what most forget is that perhaps one of those band members is missing a birthday, or a wedding or funeral of someone they care deeply about. These emotions and experiences are not only reflected lyrically on “Celebrate” but also visually throughout the piece. The video features real family photos and home footage projected on the band throughout their performance in order to truly show how personal this song is.

As Dirty Heads’ Dustin “Duddy B” Bushnell explains “It’s a look inside a band and touring as well as the journey you take to make it. We’re not bitching about anything, but you’re on the road and you miss your family. We all started doing this a while ago. None of us were married at the time. None of us had kids. Now it’s all different.”

Currently the #1 most added track on Alternative Radio, Celebrate (feat. The Unlikely Candidates) follows the first single “Vacation” which enjoyed great success. SWIM TEAM sees Dirty Heads pushing their sound barriers combining pop, alternative, hip-hop, reggae, and rock with a new breath of life. The album’s wide-ranging sound is also due in part to the diverse team of collaborators: Jonas Jeberg [Demi Lovato, Juicy J, Jason Derulo], “Lay Me Down” partner-in-crime Rome [Enrique Iglesias] of Sublime with Rome, Blueprint [Jay-Z, Kanye West, Timbaland, Eminem, Nas, Prodigy], Oren Yoel [Miley Cyrus, Kanye West], HEAVY [Andrew McMahon], and The Score.
