Future Is Female

To kick-off, Kiwi-born rider Courtney Duncan’s childhood dream came true last year when she claimed the 2019 WMX World Championship title! Being the fastest Motocross rider in the world isn’t an easy feat but Courtney has dominated the scene since 2016, winning eight out of nine races last year alone. There were a few hurdles along the way, like when she had to withdraw from the 2018 comp due to injury, but Courtney managed to push through it and earn her well-deserved crown!

On the slopes, Chloe Kim wows us all, as the reigning Olympic world champion. She became the youngest woman to win an Olympic snowboarding gold medal when she won gold in the women's snowboard halfpipe at 17 years old. With five X-Games superpipe titles to her name, Chloe has pushed the discipline to new heights. She is the only athlete to win 4 gold before age 18. She followed it up with the 2018 ESPY awards for Best Female Athlete, Best Female Olympian, and Best Female Action Sports Athlete. She's the first woman to land a double cork 1080 in a halfpipe!

Cassie Sharpe is a skier on everyone’s radar – and if she’s not on your radar, she should be. While new on the scene, the Canadian is already building her own legacy with her incredible skills of shredding and learning at a crazy rate. Cassie won gold at the 2018 Olympics in South Korea, making her the reigning Olympic champion for women’s halfpipe. Some even say she brings qualities to women’s halfpipe skiing that haven’t been seen on a skier since the late Sarah Burke. 

Still on the slopes, Jamie Anderson from South Lake Tahoe started snowboarding at 9 years of age and competed in her first Winter X Games at just 13 years old, and at 16 she became the youngest female winner. Jamie also won the inaugural snowboard slopestyle event at Sochi 2014 and retained the title to remain the only female Olympic champion in her discipline, and the first woman ever to win two gold medals in snowboarding at PyeongChang 2018. But her achievements did not end there: she was named the women's TTR World Tour champion in 2008, 2011, and 2012, and the Winter Dew Tour women's champion in 2011 and 2012.

Over in France, pro surfer Maud Le Car is one to watch. Originally from the sun-soaked island of St Martin in the Caribbean, Maud now travels the world competing in the World Surf League Qualifying Series, with the dream of making it to the women’s Championship Tour and competing amongst the world’s elite.

There’s no denying that Lizzie Armanto is one of the leaders of fierce female skaters. She became the first female to be featured on the cover of Transworld Skateboarding in addition to Thrasher cover honors and has also been featured as a primary character in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 video game. If that’s not enough, she became the first woman to complete Tony Hawk’s loop, a death-defying, vertical 360 ramp which requires the skater to go upside down at full speed. It’s something that only a handful of skaters have achieved. With over 30 awards to her name, along with the first-ever Gold in X-Games Women's Park comp in 2013, Lizzie is one of the most groundbreaking ladies in skateboard history.

In the Octagon, Aussie MMA athlete Jessica Rose Clark debuted in the UFC in 2017. Jessy Jess faced fellow Aussie Bec Rawlings at UFC Fight Night 121 in Sydney - a fight she took with just 11 days' notice and won via split decision. Jessy Jess recently moved to Northern California and joined the Combat Sports Academy, which is known for its world-class strikers. We can't wait to see what's in store for her next! 

Meanwhile, Jndia Erbacher is killing it on the drag racing track! The 23-year-old from Switzerland was born into a drag racing dynasty and now closely follows in the footsteps of her father who was a six-time European FIA Drag Racing Champion. Jndia made her debut as a Monster Energy athlete at the 2018 Nitro Olympx – she gave new meaning to unleashing the beast, running a personal best of 4.03 seconds for the quarter-mile and a ripper final speed of 479km/h. Jndia is now taking her speed and competitive attitude to the European FIA Drag Racing Championship herself, driving her 10,000bhp V8 powered drag car capable of 0 to 100km/h in less than a second – hectic. We’re so stoked to be a part of the journey of so many strong female athletes.
