RICARDO PEREDO TEAMS UP WITH MONSTER ENERGY

Apr 252017

Monster Energy is proud to present the newest member of the family: Ricardo Peredo. From Mexico, Ricardo is a mountain bike rider currently competing in the disciplines of Downhill and Enduro.
Peredo grew up in Valle del Bravo which is surrounded by nature. His passion for downhill began when one of his best friends showed him a downhill video, he immediately fell in love with the sport.

Growing up in Valle de Bravo, he and his friends, who shared the same passion for the sport, would gather together to watch downhill videos, build ramps and ride bikes. They called themselves the "Monster Team 232"; Monster for the admiration of the brand and 232 because that was the address of his friends' home where they met.  Hence why Ricardo's jersey carries the number 232.

At the young age of 3, Ricardo already showed a passion for cycling when he first learned to ride a bike without training wheels. At age of 6, he competed in children’s races in a Cross Country class; reaching podiums in multiple occasions and becoming state champion at the age of 16.

Years later, he became a tourist biker guide for a local shop and on his spare time, he and his “Monster 232” buddies continued to build ramps and tracks to practice on. In 2012, he decided to compete in Downhill contests where he became a Junior National Champion. A couple of years later,  Ricardo became National Champion in the Elite class and won the “Down Guanajuato”, the second most important urban race in Mexico.

He has been invited to “Downhill Taxco” on five occasions, and on his most recent race he was dubbed the best Mexican rider and won 12th in the overall classification.

He has gotten one National Championship title, two National Downhill second places and one third place in the National Enduro Championship.
