Round four of the 2016 CMRC Canadian Motocross Nationals took place this past weekend at the Moto Valley MX track, near Regina, Saskatchewan and it was a solid weekend for the Monster Energy Alpinestars Kawasaki team with podium finishes in both the MX1 and MX2 classes.
Coming off second overall last weekend in Calgary, Mike Alessi was again in the mix at Regina, running up at the front all day and finishing with 4-2 moto finishes, for second overall. He has now finished second overall the past three races. His strong start to the season has him sitting in second overall in the championship after four rounds.
Vince Friese was quick all day. He logged the quickest time in qualifying to take the number one starting position for moto one, but was caught up in a first turn pileup. He came all the way back to finish 7th in the moto. A 6th in moto two gave him 6th overall on the day.
In his third race with the team,
Arizona’s Mark Worth is proving to be a solid podium threat at every race. He finished third overall in MX2 with 3-4 moto finishes on the day.
