This Tampa Pro win earns Shane $20,000 and a Monster Energy Golden Ticket straight to the 2016 SLS Nike SB Super Crown World Championship. O’Neill was a top qualifier on Saturday and skipped the Semis straight to the Finals. There he met with the top ten finalists from the Semis, Evan Smith. With two runs already in the books, a win for O’Neill seemed improbable. Literally seconds before O’Neill took his third and final run, the crowd was congratulating Ribeiro on winning Tampa, but it wasn’t meant to be. Congratulations for Ribeiro are in order as he becomes one of the two new SLS Pros on the 2016 SLS Nike SB World Tour. The other new SLS Pro is Micky Papa who battled all of 2015 on the Damn Am contest circuit, and was skating his first ever Pro contest this weekend. Look out for O’Neill, Ribeiro, Papa and the rest of the SLS pros when they skate the SLS Nike SB Barcelona Pro Open on May 21st and 22nd.
