Unstoppable! To speak of Joanna Jędrzejczyk’s career in mixed martial arts is to speak in superlatives. Raised on a steady diet of Muay Thai and kickboxing since her teenage years, the native of Olsztyn, Poland, has built an unequaled track record: Joanna claimed six IFMA world medals as an amateur and won five world titles as a pro kickboxer. Once she discovered MMA fighting, there was no holding back. After making her UFC debut with a victory in 2014, it took Joanna less than a year to clinch the UFC Strawweight World Championship at UFC 185. That night, she made history as the first UFC titleholder from Poland and first female UFC champion hailing from Europe. She went on to defend her world championship five consecutive times, earning Fight of the Night bonuses and setting UFC striking records along the way. After a short stint fighting at flyweight, Joanna is now back in the UFC women’s strawweight division, where she holds the record for most wins in history. And the story continues: Laser-focused on her training, Joanna wants her belt back, and has put the rest of the division on notice. Make sure to follow #TeamJoanna to see what’s next!
