TOP SECRET MY RIDE: BRENDAN FAIRCLOUGH’S WORLD CUP PROTOTYPE

We have a super top secret My Ride to share live from the first ever World Cup in Croatia, from the UK’s best export Brendan Fairclough. Chatting to him in the pits at the first World Cup of the year, we managed to get some super exclusive shots of his new prototype, that’s flown straight out of the Scott Factory to the beautiful island of Mali-Losinj for the kick-off round of the season.

Brendan has been taking some downtime after a hectic year of filming and releasing Deathgrip, which has now exploded online and VOD on Netflix and iTunes. Charging up for the start of the race season in his hometown of Surrey, UK, Brendan is now focused and geared up for another season competing against the World’s Best.

“I’ve been at home a lot, I didn’t have a downhill bike to ride, and I didn’t have to film or dig or scout for any movies, so I spent a lot of time in the gym and a lot of time on my trail bike,” Brendan has been looking forward to the start of the season and is looking forward to riding the first ever Croatian World Cup; “I’ve had a little scout around and had a walk down and I’m pleasantly surprised, so I’ll let the bike do the talking tomorrow.”  

Onto the exciting new bike, that has everyone in town speculating on the developments with the whole Scott team set-ups, it has to be the most interesting bike in the pits, with an aluminium paint finish and sharpy-esque stickers on the frame: “We tried something new at the very end of the last season in October, so we’ve taken what we learnt from that and fast-forwarded it a bit and made something now for the year, so we’ll see where it goes…”

The SCOTT Gambler - a new 1st stage prototype that Brendan and The SCOTT-Velosolutions team are currently testing: “Yeah we’ve got an early prototype we’re riding this weekend, it’s all moving in the right direction and is a huge improvement on the last one in terms of speed, so I’m really happy”

“The biggest change is the suspension this year; it’s got some nice, new, upside down suspension on there from Bos,” Brendan signed with a new sponsor at the start of the season and is stoked to be mixing up the parts on his bike.

The Deathgrip grips are always a winner: “It’s got some exciting grips, handlebars and peddles on there, all my signature line.“
