With a seemingly ‘crazed’ need for speed and as big, bad and burly as they come in BMX racing, Monster’s Jared Graves is the prototypical World Cup 4x racer (downhill BMX on mountain bikes). Going 5’-10”, a buck-81, the powerful pedal-pumping Graves hit Monster’s radar when he finished 6th at the Beijing Games in BMX. Since coming aboard with the Monster Army Graves has been nearly invincible in 2009 World Cup 4x competition, winning four of six World Cup events he’s entered and placing on the podium in two others – to wrap up the 2009 UCI World Cup MTB 4x championship before the season’s over! Pulling back just a bit from BMX in ‘09, Graves’ focus and subsequent dominance in 4x came after a season where he won nearly everything in BMX during Australia and New Zealand’s UCI Oceania Series – taking five wins and the overall Oceania championship. Riding the Yeti bikes, Graves lives and trains in Colorado when he’s here in the States, Graves returns to his native Australia the first week in September for the 4x World Championships at Canberra.
