SOFIA, Bulgaria (March 2, 2011) – Backed by Monster Energy, the fifth annual Bulgarian Skateboard “Late Awards Show” blew up this past week in the country’s capital city – Sofia – with more than 200 dedicated Bulgarian skaters, fans and industry VIPs on hand for what’s become the country’s biggest night of skateboarding love to date.

“Monster Energy was please to be part of this important event for Bulgarian skateboarders. With videos rolling on the big screen and music straining the theater’s sound system, skateboard fans from around the world got to witness the Monster-fueled energy of the Bulgarian skate scene through a bitchin’ online simulcast. While comments flew on a specially-dedicated Facebook page, Monster Energy’s MAT team doled out all sorts of Monster product to the crowd – and event sent stuff out to the best online comments. The Monster-giving carried on well after the show in of Sofia’s newly-opened city clubs.

In the end the big winners of some sizable cash prizes from Monster Energy included Ivo Marinov, Skater of the Year and Dimo Petkov, Rookie of the Year.
