About Rickey

“I love reaching 200 miles per hour in seven seconds, but better than that, I like beating my competition!” declares Monster Energy throttle man Rickey Gadson, the winningest professional drag racer in AMA Prostar Drag Racing history, as well as a multifold National Champion. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gadson, 5’ 11” and 165 pounds in fighting trim, now calls Sicklerville, New Jersey home and that’s where he keeps his heavily modified Kawasaki Ninja Super Street motorcycles caged up. The African-American is something of a revolutionary in motorcycle drag racing, becoming the quarter-mile-based sport’s first full-time, factory-sponsored racer in 1998. Heavily backed by Kawasaki, Gadson has been a winner right from the onset, claiming numerous National victories before acing the Streetbike Shootout National Championship in 2003. Eight National Championships later, he’s still fast at it, blistering the 1320 (that’s a clever way of saying “quarter of a mile”) and shutting down his competitors. As an interesting moonlighting gig, Gadson has been known to do some stunt riding for the movie industry.
