Rick Thorne has returned from a short hiatus for his next musical endeavor. Rick, a BMX legend and all around Icon, is no stranger to the hard work involved in building a legend. After finishing the Warped tour with his Punk project Good Guys in Black, and accomplishing features on TV and in trade mags, he is ready to do it all again…. But this time much bigger, and the new name is from his roots; THORNE
THORNE recently released "No Place for Disgrace," recorded at the Robert Berson Studios in Hollywood, mixed by Michael Patterson, and mastered by Howie Weinberg in “the hills.” "No Place for Disgrace" received some production from veteran music producer Ronnie King and features an explosive protest with “This is War,” a flashing back smash “Bomb Days,” and a biting commentary on the area Rick has lived in for the past decade dubbed "F--- Hollywood." Thorne’s track “Pinin’ it” is spinning on Sirius/XM Faction radio.
THORNE began played live rocking a benefit show for the Russian punk band Pussy Riot at the Viper Room in Hollywood. They have already begun working on his next release collaborating with producers Dan Keyes, Tim Armstrong and some other heavyweights in his sights. Rick Thorne says he is “more focused now than ever” and is creating hard and heavy sounds “from the gut” that make you want to have a good time. The new songs better match his personality, allowing him to tell his life story through his music. “My style is Punk, Rock n Roll. Its all about my life; taking a negative and making it a positive.”
THORNE has played with national heavyweights: Suicidal Tendencies, Pennywise, The Black Pacific, Hepcat, DI, and Authority Zero. THORNE rocks sponsorships from Monster Energy Drink, Sullen Clothing, Ernie Ball, ESP Guitars. Rick has teamed up with Jeremy Hologersen at the Agency group, and began preparing to do damage in early 2013 with a US skate park tour. Be on the lookout for THORNE!
