Jack Holder wins the 19th annual Ed Jancarz Memorial in Poland in record time
Poland’s famed Stal Gorzow stadium saw it’s record speedway lap time eclipsed this past Friday (March 27) when Monster Energy’s highly ranked FIM Speedway Grand Prix (SGP) racer Jack Holder (Australia), racing his first season with the Stal Gorzow club, stepped up and won the 19th running of the Edward Jancarz Memorial in Gorzow.
After winning the Australian Speedway Championship this past off season and with the SGP season opener just over a month away (May 1st, Landshut, Germany), Monster Energy’s Holder was getting in some preseason hot laps – and already looked up-to-speed when he put up a Gorzow Heat 1 lap of 57.72 seconds to set the new track record. Holder then went on to capture 14 points in the regular rounds (tying defending SGP champ Bartosz Zmarzlik) before taking the grand finale trophy over veteran Andzejs Lebedevs (Latvia) in 2nd and Polish junior racer Mathias Pollestad (3rd).

“Trained my butt off to get myself in the best possible shape for the upcoming (SGP) season,” said Holder. “Had the first proper sort of meeting at Gorzow on Friday night and no better way to start the season than breaking the track record in the first heat. Did that, then, yeah, went on to win the meeting. Really looking forward to the big year ahead. Sacrificed a lot to put myself in the best shape possible. Done everything to make everything right for this year and looking forward to a big year.”

Up next… The 2026 FIM Speedway GP gets underway in just over a month with the season-opening WWK FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Landshut, scheduled for May 2nd. For further information, including the season race schedule, racer bios and timely results, link to: www.fimspeedway.com.
