Honda HRC’s Crivilin, Schareina & Ventura are 1-2-3 midway through Brazil’s Sertoes Petrobras rally
34th running of the Sertoes Petrobras in Brazil is all-Monster Energy up front as the Honda HRC Rally team is dominating through Stage 4 (of 8)
Led by local Brazilian Bruno Crivilin, Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally team has taken charge of the 34th running of the Sertoes Petrobras rally running through the heart of massive South American country, with his Spanish teammate, Tosha Schareina, hot on his tail (3:34 back) and Portugues teammate Martim Ventura well in the hunt as well as the three make up the overall podium midway through the eight stage event.
Said Scharenina, the defending champ of the Sertoes Petrobras: “Who’s Bruno?” Jokingly referring to the latest Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally team acquisition.
“He’s the guy that’s leading,” responded Ventura – dryly.
Laid back and having fun during the down time between rounds three and four – the Desafio Ruta 40 and Rallye du Maroc - of the 2026 FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), the Monster Energy/Honda HRC Rally trio of Schareina, Ventura and Crivilin are nonetheless getting down to business – and getting it done on the course – as the three have combined to win all four stages thus far, plus the Prologue, in Brazil’s, and one of this hemisphere’s, biggest rally events of the year.
Winning the stage starting position Prologue was Schareina, who then took top honors in both Stage 1 and Stage 2. Currently 2nd overall in the W2RC standings, Schareina dropped some time between Stages 3 & 4, which handed the overall lead to teammate Crivilin – something Schareina’s sure he’ll win back.
“We got off to a good start, but so many problems today (Stage 4),” said Schareina. “We lost the overall, but just three minutes back. Tomorrow (Thursday) we will take back the overall for sure.”
Added Ventura, who won Stage 3, on the overall feel of the Sertoes Petrobras rally so far: “Felt super good. Track is so similar to my home. So nice, fast speed tracks. Sliding, with sand. Good push to end well. Good day on the bike. Now get ready for the day tomorrow. Bike is doing super nice. Super good for the team and training for the world championship (W2RC).”
