Growing up with a passion for off-road racing is one thing, but realising your dream and scoring a full factory ride at the Dakar is something else altogether. Jose Ignacio Cornejo has done both of these. 'Nacho' as he is known to his fans, arrived on the rally scene with a splash - finishing second on the treacherous DesafÃo Inka on his first attempt. In 2016 Nacho won the Cross-Country Rallies Junior Championship. Off the back of this success he was picked up by the Monster Energy Honda Team to stand in for a then injured Paulo Gonçalves on the 2018 Dakar; and the rest, as they say, is history. An expert at navigation, a flair for big wheelies, and with raw speed to match, Nacho is one to watch at the Dakar Rally
