DIYX STRT JAM: Chaos, Pyro & Absolute Hammers Erupt in Krakow

Published On:: 16/12/2025

The sweet smell of spilt Monster and lightly roasted eyelashes: The 2025 edition of Ethan Morgan and Method Mag’s unhinged snowboard circus set the streets of Krakow on fire! Tap in to witness the carnage from Krakow in the official DIYX STRT Jam highlights edit.

“This weekend was wild, out of control, but somehow also under control. For us it ran very smooth, but the weeks before drained me so I definitely broke down by the last night. But after all the love we got from everyone, it was fully worth all the stress. Everyone had a great time, and it was beautiful to see all the smiles over the weekend. That’s what it’s all about <3” – Ethan Morgan

THURSDAY

An eerie blanket of mist welcomed us to Krakow on Thursday night. The chaos kicked off with welcome drinks at the hotel, followed by the big reveal of Method Mag’s latest cover: the man himself, Ethan. Once the hotel bar shut, the party rolled into Mashroom, where another surprise awaited: Pat Fava was handed his new pro model board for ThirtyTwo, and the tone for the weekend was set.

FRIDAY

Fueled by Thursday-night fumes, Friday kicked off the first snowboarding chaos of the weekend: the Three-Trick Challenge at Tauron Arena. Riders had to land a boardslide of their choice, a frontboard, and a press — plus chug a beer and three pierogis after each landed trick. Pauli was the first to tick off all three, with Dillon Henriksen and Nick Puenter close behind. Then it was time for the legendary Oakley Gap-to-Rail Challenge, where Joey Fava heated up the spot and rode away with the win. The Monster Rave session closed out Friday’s riding in a proper DIYX manner – loud, loose, and beautifully feral.

...

The shenanigans didn’t slow down after the riding and the crew rolled into the official afterparty, where aetheboy1, DJ Ité, DJ Crack-R, 11n and Maslak kept the vibes high until closing time.

SATURDAY

Things kicked off with the Oakley Rail Challenge, before moving into the DIYX Mini Big Air: one-run spin-to-win (landing optional), where Ethan himself took the crown, followed by one-run Best Method with Max Warbington claiming the pot. Then came the grand finale: Halldór Helgason shutting down the Fire Gap Rail with a performance so insane it left everyone wanting more.

...
...

The stoke carried straight into DIYX Exit Night, where the 2025 winners were crowned: Rob Roethler and Joey Fava took a shared top spot for the men, while Jess Perlmutter claimed the women’s win. And the MVP – the most DIYXiest rider of the weekend – went to a true all-time legend, a man who’s been pro longer than half the riders have been alive, with unmatched style, humour, and heart: Halldór Helgason. An absolutely perfect choice.

With beats from Testpress, Mezer the Architect, ATI, AJ aka Ethan Morgan, Lordick and Jusvybe, DIYX 2025 was signed off: loud, chaotic, and unforgettable.

Consumed by the mist or not, the fogginess was undoubtedly present throughout the event. Here are a few takes from anonymous sources:

“I woke up to someone knocking at my door in the middle of the night. Turns out, that person was later found asleep in the hotel corridor because they couldn’t find their room.”

“XXX woke up in the hospital after Friday night – no idea how they got there – wired up with tubes, ripped them off, and rode straight to Saturday’s spot to strap in.”

“I heard someone woke up and realised the carpet from their hotel room had gone missing during the night.”

“Never let your job take over the drinking”

Whether it was Krakow's way of not wanting to let go, we’ll never know — but the eerie mist made a reappearance on Sunday, delaying nearly everyone’s flights. Minds foggy, hearts full, and bellies sore from laughing: Ethan Morgan, you’ve done it again. DIYX remains the purest reminder of everything we love about snowboarding.

Until next time, DIYXers.
