Story of an MMA icon! Born into a professional fighting family, Alexa Grasso has elevated the state of the art in women’s mixed martial arts like no other fighter. She has also raised the bar for the entire sport in her native Mexico as one of its key figures. Early on, she learned shadow boxing from her father, Luis Grasso, before being introduced to the art of fighting by her uncle, pro boxer and MMA fighter Francisco Grasso, who remains her main coach. Based on this foundation, she took her own skills to a new level: From making her pro debut in 2012 in Mexico with a stunning 15-second knockout to joining Invicta FC two years later, to leaving the promotion with an undefeated record and a reputation for swift knockouts. Joining the UFC as an underdog, Alexa shook the world by defeating Valentina Shevchenko via face crank submission to claim the UFC Women’s Flyweight Championship title as the FIRST Mexican-born woman to win a UFC championship. Unstopped by injuries and setbacks, she continues to hone her skills at the family-run Lobo Gym in Guadalajara, where she inspires and trains the next generation of MMA stars. As Alexa told her 1.4 million followers on Instagram: "Pressure is a privilege, not everyone has the courage to test themselves at the highest level!”
