Webb & Deegan Lead Monster Energy Charge into 2026 AMA Supercross Season

Published On: 1/7/2026

Defending champs Cooper Webb (450SX) and Haiden Deegan (250SX) headline Monster Energy’s powerhouse lineup as the 53rd AMA Supercross season kicks off.

We’re in that time every year where the days peel off the calendar, clocks ticks down and dirt bike racing fans get all riled up, scouring the Internet for any shard of team and rider announcements, sifting through the rumors and injury reports, predicting which young racers have what it takes – and which veterans will be favored to win or repeat their championship aspirations. Back-and-forth forum talk, texts and bench racing with buddies – all signaling the start of the 53rd season for the world’s premier two wheel stadium motorsport: Monster Energy AMA Supercross.

And before the January 10th opener in Anaheim, Calif., and the gate on the 2026 season even drops, Monster Energy – the longtime title sponsor of AMA Supercross (since 2007) – announced recently, in conjunction with series promoter Feld Motor Sports, an extension of its title sponsorship position to 2030. Upgraded so Monster Energy now reaches through the combined SuperMotocross World Championship (SMX) which includes, in addition to Monster Energy’s backing of the Kawasaki and Pro Circuit teams and Star Racing/Yamaha, extensive FanFest activations to continue to help power the sport’s fan experience and growth.

But it all starts with those amazing young men on their flying machines. And here's a quick look at the racers who’ll be running the iconic glowing green M-claw logo for the 2026 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season.

Monster Energy/Kawasaki

450 Racers:

# 4 Chase Sexton

# 35 Garrett Marchbanks

Bike: Kawasaki KX450SR

Overview: Massive off season acquisition for the Monster Energy-backed Kawasaki factory 450 program as 2023 SX champ Sexton joins the program as its premier racer for the foreseeable future. Fan favorite Sexton, out of Illinois, is expected to pay instant dividends on the KX450SR, signing a multi-year deal with a three-year option. Joining Sexton in the Monster Energy/Kawasaki factory hauler will be 450 rookie Marchbanks. The former Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki 250 class racer raced to three podium finishes (two in SX and one in MX) in 2025 and placed 3rd overall in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship. At 6-2 and just a click under 190 pounds, Marchbanks definitely looks to have the size and strength to transition easily to the 450 class.

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki

250 Racers:

#10 Seth Hammaker

#35 Drew Adams

#47 Levi Kitchen

#142 Cameron McAdoo

Bike: Kawasaki KX250SR

Overview: For more than 30 years (since ’93) Mitch Payton’s highly successful support 250 class program has been synonymous with the Kawasaki marque. Payton’s teams have won more than 300 races and dozens of championships, highlighted by names like McGrath, Carmichael, Villopoto and Stewart. The 2026 season should no doubt add to that race win title as seasoned racers Hammaker, who placed 2nd in 250 ESX last year, Kitchen and McAdoo all have top-of-the-podium speed, with Adams, the ’25 Marty Smith Rookie of the Year in pro motocross, able to bring it in SX as well.

Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha

450 Racers:

#2 Cooper Webb

#32 Justin Cooper

#28 Christian Craig

Bike: Yamaha YZ450F

Overview: Doesn’t get any better than winning the Monster Energy AMA Supercross’ premier 450 class championship, which Webb delivered to the factory-backed Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha team this past spring in Salt Lake City by a thrilling two point margin ahead of Sexton (365-363). Two-time SX champ Webb returns to lead a trio of 450 pilots that include Cooper, who placed 3rdoverall in his first full year of 450 SX class racing, and veteran Craig, who remains not only fast, but provides crucial feedback to the race team in testing.

250 Racers

#1 Haiden Deegan

#23 Michael Mosiman

#25 Nate Thrasher

#163 Pierce Brown

#37 Cole Davies

#61 Max Anstie

Bike: Yamaha YZ250F

Overview: Strength not just in numbers with the massive six-rider 250 program, but amazing talent as well on the Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha program as ‘25 250 champ Deegan gets set to defend crown contesting the Western SX Region. Beyond the Deegan, who’s arguably today’s biggest draw in the sport, Davies also showed signs of brilliance in his first ever Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, winning the Seattle and Philadelphia rounds and placing 3rd overall – good for the SX Rookie of the Year honors. Thrasher would place 4th in 250 ESX, Mosiman (7th WSX), while Anstie just won the FIM World SX Championship’s SX2 (250) class earlier this month.

Noteworthy will be Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha’s entries into the SMX Next division for up-and-coming Monster Energy AMA Supercross racers, including; Landen Gordon, Caden Dudney, Cayden Minear and Carson Wood.

...

Also… Monster Energy will back two veteran racers for the 2026 supercross season that have been synonymous with the M-claw branding. Jason Anderson, aboard the #21 PMG/Suzuki RMZ250 and #46 Justin Hill, who placed in impressive 8th overall (194 points) in the 450 class aboard a privateer KTM will both run Monster Energy-branded helmets. Anderson, who’s made the transition nicely from the Monster Energy/Kawasaki factory bike to his privateer Suzuki ride, was recently crowned the FIM World Supercross Championship’s SX1 champion.
