Watch out for the Knockout King! Already heralded as one of the most iconic fighters in MMA history, Derrick Lewis has a reputation for doing things his own way. And that means doing it big! One of the most decorated fighters in the UFC, Lewis holds the records for most finishes in the Heavyweight division and most knockouts in UFC history. Born in New Orleans and relocated to Texas as a youth, he discovered an outlet for his restless energy in mixed martial arts. Soon he became hooked on the sport and began competing as an amateur in 2009. One year later he turned pro and competed in the Bellator Fighting Championship before moving to Legacy FC, where he compiled a 6-0 record and claimed the Legacy FC Heavyweight Championship. And when the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) offered a contract in 2013, Lewis didn't hesitate – and nothing has been the same since. Through his ongoing career, Lewis gave fans countless classic moments and won numerous Performance of the Night and Fight of the Night awards for spectacular finishes and classic battles. UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier said he'd "never been hit harder" than by Lewis. His last-second knockout victory over Alexander Volkov at UFC 229 – Lewis down by points with 11 seconds on the clock – is the stuff of legend. Keep an eye out as the story of Derrick Lewis continues. Whatever comes next – it's going to be big!
