Italian rider Francesco Bagnaia, also more commonly known as Pecco, kick-started his racing career back in 2010, where he finished third overall in the highly competitive CEV Championship, in Spain. Entering the World Championship just two years later, Pecco continued to impress, moving up to Moto2™ in 2017 where his efforts rewarded him with Rookie of the Year in the intermediate class. 2018 saw the Italian continue to shine as he tallied up 16 podiums, including 8 wins, resulting in him taking the title, and being crowned Moto2 World Champion at the Malaysian Grand Prix. In 2019 Pecco made his debut in the premier class, with Pramac Racing. Following a couple of tasking years, 2021 brought renewed hope, with three podiums within the opening four rounds, firmly placing the Italian in position to fight for the title. Following his debut MotoGP™ win at Aragon, and another in succession on home soil in Misano, Pecco looked set to take the title charge to the checkered flag, but an unfortunate crash on the second visit to Misano, saw his hopes slip away. Winning both the final races in Valencia, Pecco finished the 2021 season as a strong runner-up, and a clear favorite for the 2022 crown.

Marc Marquez, Francesco Bagnaia and the factory Ducati Lenovo team kept cool under relentless Czech Republic sunshine to own round nine of 2026 MotoGP, for what was yet another event of the world championship that throbbed with extreme speed, action, pulse and public. The Monster Energy Grand Prix of Czechia delivered the juice at one of Europe’s prime motorcycle racing spots, while the temperature also raised a notch in the chase for the tower of champions in 2026.
MotoGP lunged into a Thai twister to open the 78th year of motorcycle Grand Prix and Marco Bezzecchi was one of the stars of the show at the first of 22 rounds. Buriram burned with sunshine, rubber and race fuel. 2026 is the final roar of the current 1000cc 225mph prototype bikes: for 2027 MotoGP will pivot to a new 850cc formula. Regardless of fire-breathers’ spec, over 91,000 spectators sought shade and excitement at the flat and fast Chang International Circuit as the world’s quickest and most popular motorcycle racing series raised the exhaust notes. There was little disappointment.
‘Que Boigeria’! MotoGP encountered more craziness during round six of an unpredictable and captivating championship but, aside from the on-track fare that means Grand Prix is currently the hottest motorsport for action in the world, the Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya was a crucible of redemption for reigning world champion Francesco Bagnaia and his factory Ducati team.
