Off-Road Racers Head to annual Vegas Mint 400 Race
Monster Energy’s ’24 Mint 400 champion Brabec, along with podium placers Herbst, Currie & Burroughs, return for the “Great American Off-Road Race”.
Premier Monster Energy off-road racers, including defending Open Pro Motorcycle division champion Ricky Brabec, along with podium placers Ed Herbst (3rd Unlimited Truck Spec), Casey Currie (2nd Class 1 Unlimited) and Matt Burroughs (3rd UTV Pro), lead a cavalcade of fellow Monster Energy racers back to the legendary BFGoodrich Tires Mint 400 this week in Las Vegas, March 5-9.
“The Great American Off-Road Race,” which began in 1968 as a promotion for Las Vegas’ Mint Hotel’s annual deer hunt, became the stuff of motorsports legend as not only did off-road greats like Mickey Thompson, Ivan Stewart and Walker Evans get involved, but popularity of the race would also draw crossover motorsports legends like Indy 500 champs Al Unser and Rick Mears (following Parnelli Jones’ involvement with the Mint), Hollywood types including Steve McQueen and James Gardner, and even NASA astronaut Gordon Cooper.
Ending its run in 1988 following the sale of the Mint Hotel, the race was revived – by Matt & Josh Martelli – in 2008 and has grown, steadily, back to one of the consistently toughest and highest attended off-road races in America.
For 2025 Monster Energy will roll out a who’s who list of its top off-road pilots over ten classes at the Mint, featuring:
