Rayssa Leal Makes Skateboarding History with Fourth Straight SLS Super Crown Win in São Paulo

Rayssa Leal dominates the SLS Super Crown in São Paulo, securing her fourth straight world title and rewriting skateboarding history.

The world of street skateboarding witnessed history as Monster Energy’s Rayssa Leal claimed her fourth consecutive Women’s Skateboard Street title at the SLS Super Crown World Championship. The 17-year-old phenom from Imperatriz, Brazil, delivered a flawless performance inside the Ginasio do Ibirapuera sports arena, solidifying her status as one of the most dominant athletes in skateboarding.

Presented by Street League Skateboarding (SLS), the Super Crown World Championship is the ultimate stage for the sport’s elite. This year’s event in São Paulo, brought together the top-ranked riders from the 2025 SLS World Tour, which featured major stops in Miami, Paris, and SLS Spot Takeovers in Santa Monica, Brasília, Cleveland, and Las Vegas.

Leal’s Historic Run

Competing as a three-time defending champion and podium favorite, Leal entered the Women’s Skateboard Street final with confidence after winning earlier SLS contests in Miami and Brasília. On the California Skateparks-designed course, she opened strong in the Run section, landing a technical line that included:

  • Frontside bluntslide on the big rail
  • 360 kickflip over the Euro Gap
  • Backside tailslide on the ledge
  • Heelflip frontside boardslide on the flat rail
  • Backside Smith grind on the big rail
  • Frontside noseblunt slide on the bump-to-rail

Her first run scored 8.3 points, setting the tone for the final.

In the Single Trick section, Leal continued to dominate. She landed a backside tailslide on the big rail for 7.5 points, followed by a kickflip backside lipslide for 8.7 points. Cheered on by the hometown crowd, she sealed her victory with a gap to backside lipslide for 8.1 points. Her total score of 32.6 points earned her the title and made her the first skateboarder in history to win four consecutive SLS Super Crown championships.

“I’m really happy to be here again in São Paulo, to be with my family. This means a lot for me. I don’t even have words for this!” said Leal after her win.

Liz Akama Takes Second

Joining Leal on the podium was 16-year-old Liz Akama from Miyagi, Japan, who finished second with 26.4 points. Despite a challenging Run section, Akama showcased her technical skills in the Single Trick segment, landing:

  • Barley grind revert on the big rail for 8.0 points
  • Hurricane grind for 8.1 points
  • Backside lipslide for 6.1 points

Akama’s performance confirmed her status as one of the sport’s rising stars.

Men’s Street Final: Huston Claims Third

In the Men’s Skateboard Street division, Nyjah Huston, a seven-time Super Crown champion from Laguna Beach, California, finished third with 27.5 points. Huston impressed with a Nine Club score in the Run section, landing tricks like:

  • Half Cab crooked grind on the big rail
  • Nollie heelflip over the bump
  • Kickflip backside lipslide on the flat rail
  • Switch crooked grind on the Hubba ledge

In the Single Trick section, Huston added another Nine Club score with a switch heelflip crooked grind and an ultra-technical frontside nollie heelflip noseblunt slide on the big rail.

Brazil’s Giovanni Vianna also made headlines, landing a Caballerial frontside noseslide fakie for 8.8 points. Despite missing later attempts, Vianna finished sixth overall with 16.3 points.
