Born and raised on the East Coast, Troy Podmilsak started freeskiing at age 3 at Liberty University in Virginia on dry slope terrain, before the family moved to Park City when he was 6. Once he touched real snow, the progression was fast and well ahead of his years: At age 12, Troy turned heads as the youngest person to complete the double cork 1440 and went viral with his high-energy online videos. Then came winning both slopestyle and Big Air at the 2022 FIS Junior World Ski Championships… but his riding was never junior.
Supported by the Monster Army amateur program, Troy traveled the world and stacked podiums like a full-on pro, including gold in the 2023 World Championships in Big Air by landing the world's first triple 2160 mute. Technically, he was still a Monster Army 'recruit' when he claimed X Games gold at Aspen 2024 before stepping up to official professional Monster Energy sponsorship in early 2025.
Taking the proper time to pay his dues proved the right move for Troy: He's built a solid foundation for raising the bar as an Olympic athlete and pacesetter of the entire freeski movement, ready to put down never-been-done tricks right when it counts.
